The past seven days have been extremely hectic. I had three doctor’s appointments, multiple errands, a 9-year-old’s birthday party to plan and shop for, and just when I thought things were slowing down my van broke down. Yes, it’s been one of those weeks and I’m sure you can relate.
To me it feels like I’ll never feel rested again or have any energy to tackle everything there is to do in the days to come. In addition to taking a long overdue nap, there are at least five things you can do to rejuvenate yourself and be ready to push forward feeling like a queen.
1. Spring for a pedicure
There’s something about a pedicure alone that makes you feel relaxed and special. It’s also perfect for soothing those tired feet. After your pedicure prop your feet up and sip your favorite hot beverage, read or watch a movie. Whatever you do make sure it includes little movement and all relaxation for at least an hour.
2. Hire or enlist a butler for the day
Quite some time ago I had a male friend serve as butler for myself and a girlfriend for afternoon tea. I was able to enjoy my friend’s company without having to worry about refilling cups or playing hostess.
3. Get steamy
Visit a local gym or spa and spend some time in the sauna. (At a spa you’ll have more choices for steaming that may also include homeopathic and aromatherapy.) It’s a sure fire way to release tension that has gathered in your shoulders and neck.
4. Slumber away
Set your alarm for about an hour, longer if it takes you awhile to fall asleep, and enjoy the dream time. For the best nap ever, put on your most luxurious pajamas (or opt for your birthday suit), use a satin pillowcase and your favorite blanket. When your hour is over be sure to rise slowly and stretch.
5. Be still, do nothing – Easy, right?
Oftentimes we are so busy caring for others that we neglect to care for ourselves. Keep this short list handy to remind you to pamper yourself.
Any other ideas on ways to pamper yourself?
